Stage 1 Package - 360HP | OBS 94-97 7.3L Powerstroke

On OBS trucks, Stage 1 (AC Code) injectors are a fantastic stock replacement and for trucks intended to tow frequently. Without any tuning in the truck they will run exactly like factory injectors and do not require any additional modifications. If you want to use them to their full potential you will need additional supporting modifications though. This package is a great way to combine parts that work well together.

Choosing the Right Parts:

1. Injector Options:

2. Tuning Options:
   PHP Hydra - Choose this option if you do NOT already have a PHP Hydra Chip.
   NOTE: You will need to source custom tunig from a custom tuning company.
   
   
3. Turbo Options:
   KC Stage 1 (63/70) Turbo  - Directly replaces the stock turbo, and our recommendation better EGT management while working the truck in higher power tunes. (more info)
   
   KC Balanced Assembly - If you are willing to rebuild your own turbo and don't intend to tow heavy in higher power tunes. (more info)
   
   
4. Fuel System:
   An electric fuel system is required to for making full use of these new larger injectors.Irate Diesels complete OBS electric fuel system (more info) is everything needed to replace your stock fuel system from the selector valve to the engine.
   - Retains use of both fuel tanks
   - Removes/replaces stock fuel filter (i.e fuel bowl delete)

Q. WILL I NEED AN UPGRADED HPOP (HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP)?

7. Most likely yes, especially on OBS and Early 1999 7.3s. These trucks had lower performing 15* HPOP’s from the factory. You should be able to maintain over 2,800PSI of Injection Control Pressure at Wide Open Throttle, if your truck can not do this you need to upgrade your HPOP.

Q: WHAT TRANSMISSION UPGRADES WILL BE NEEDED?

A: If this is a daily driver/tow rig that is not beat on constantly, a healthy stock transmission will generally last very well. It is our recommendation that unless your transmission is low mileage and very healthy that you leave it alone and only purchase a well built transmission when its needed rather than attempting to modify the stock transmission to handle more power.

Q: MY TRUCK HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, DO I NEED A BETTER CLUTCH?

A: If you are going to use near the max potential of these injectors (and support modifications) you will need to replace your factory clutch with something better. Check out our clutch selection!

Q: DO I NEED TO UPGRADE THE FUEL SYSTEM WITH STAGE 1 INJECTORS?

A: Switching to an electric fuel system will be necessary to make the most of these injectors. But it is not required if you are just using these as a stock replacement.

It is recommended that you maintain no less than 50 PSI of fuel pressure or you can damage the injectors. For Ideal performance you should be maintaining between 60 and 70 PSI of fuel pressure.

What Can This Kit Be Used For?

This package is great for towing any weight and fast spool up, while staying reliable and not needing head studs, valve-springs, and pushrods.

A stock OBS truck will dyno at around 150HP and 325lb.ft of torque.

This setup is capable of 300-350HP and 650-700lb.ft of torque with proper supporting modification. (i.e electric fuel system, HPOP upgrade, Turbo etc.)
